Meet the Board of Directors

Jim and his wife, Audra, own and operate Island Lake Farm, a 109 acre diversified farm and forestry operation dedicated to using ecological principles in the production of food and forest products, including a small herd of Dexter cattle. Jim is the acting registered agent for HBC through his work with Happy Dancing Turtle, where he advocates for profitable farming and ranching systems that protect our soil and water resources.

  • Brian Holtti - Treasurer

A third-generation family farm in Pine River, Minnesota raising cattle and growing hay. We believe in ethical beef production, rotational grazing, and ensuring that today's resources last long enough to be passed along.

  • Judy Worm

Judy Worm and her husband own and operate Clayhill Farm and Forest, near Brainerd, Minnesota.  The farm's production of hay, beef, meat goats, firewood, and maple syrup is done using regenerative agriculture practices that promote soil health, water quality, wildlife habitat, and a sustainable ecosystem for quality food production.

  • Dustin Wiese

A fourth generation rancher and co-owner of the Flying W Ranch with his family. They raise registered Angus, host an annual bull sale the first Saturday of May and they manufacture and sell AgStrike post drivers. Dustin also serves as cow/calf chair for the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s and is on the USDA Advisory Committee of Beginning Farmers and Ranchers.

  • Clayton Barg

The Barg family raises quality Angus-Simmental cross cattle in Pillager, MN.  They utilize a rotational grazing program and offer fresh water sources to their livestock. Their operation proudly participates in the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP), a voluntary opportunity for farmers and agricultural landowners to take the lead in implementing conservation practices that protect our water.

We founded Headwaters Beef Cooperative with a commitment to sustainability, focusing on cull animals raised under strict protocols that support well-managed grasslands and ensure healthy livestock.
