  • The goal of HBC is to support local economic development by adding value to cattle through marketing by telling our story, that well managed grasslands are good for the soil, water, wildlife, and the climate, all while providing healthy meat to our community.  Survey after survey have told us that the vast majority of consumers want local foods.  It is our plan to capture this opportunity in order to provide a stable price to our member producers, and a fair price to our downstream customers.

  • Members are required to comply with the bylaws of the HBC and Commitment to Provide Livestock and the Membership Agreement.  All members must follow the HBC Production Protocols.

  • Yes, our Production Protocols are based on cows grazing on well managed grasslands. Cattle are required to spend the growing season on pasture and rotated no less than once per week in order to support pasture health and productivity.  Our growers pledge to strive for constant improvement in their operations.   • We plan to offer products through various wholesale markets, including grocery stores, meat markets, ground beef, preformed beef patties, snack sticks, and as primal cuts to businesses with the ability to break those down and sell through their meat case. Watch our website for updates on where you can purchase HBC products.

  • To sell cattle to the HBC, producers must be a member in good standing and raise animals following the HBC Production Protocols. Priority will be given to members with a Commitment to Provide Livestock.
